Hello there and welcome to the Thinking Fellows podcast. My name is Caleb and I'm joined by Dr. Scott

Keith and Adam Francisco. Today we are going back to theological topics. We're going to do some

doctrine type things today. We're going to talk about the theology of the cross versus the theology

of glory, which are some phrases that I'm sure long-time listeners will

recognize from the show because this phrase has come up in the past. In fact, I think just a

couple weeks ago when I was editing this show, I heard Dr. Keith say Theology of the cross

just very briefly in one episode. We did, let's see, right before Reformation Day,

so I think it was like three weeks before Reformation Day last year,

2017, the 500th anniversary.

We did an episode on the Heidelberg Disputation,

which is where this phrase originally comes from, right? Or the first time that

we've seen it used in writing, the theology of the cross. And so what we're going to do today

is we're going to talk about kind of that thesis within the Heidelberg disputation a little

more. We're going to talk about how this impacts theology broadly and all doctrines broadly and

possibly talk about how we deviate from a theology to cross into a theology of glory

and how and when that happens. So that's what we're going to do today. But before that,
