There's a recent article in Vanity Fair magazine, a profile of what it calls the New Right.

It's written by James Pogue, who's reporting from the National Conservatism Conference.

And what Pogue says is that there's a rather frightening new tendency in right-wing thought

that is influencing some prominent Republican candidates for office, including J.D. Vance of

Ohio and Blake Masters of Arizona, both of whom

have close ties to Peter Thiel, the PayPal billionaire, and also to a rather mysterious and lesser

known public intellectual, a man by the name of Curtis

Jarvin, who is discussed extensively. Curtis Jarvin is a inspiration or hero to many in a movement

that is called the neo-reactionary movement, or it's unclear whether it's a movement or an intellectual

tendency or what.

But my guest today is going to help us sort out some of the material here to figure out what

is going on, because Elizabeth Santerfer is a writer who has actually written a book called

Neo Reaction, A Basilisk, Essays on and Around the Alt-Rightite.

Elizabeth Sandifers also writing an ongoing comic series called Britain A Prophecy, which you can

check out as well. But we're here

to talk today about a neo-reaction of Basilisk because Elizabeth is probably one of the foremost

experts or has dived most deeply into the thought and the writings of the so-called neo-reactionary.
