Get ready to learn the name because odds are you don't even know he's on the team.

That's defense alignment of Sasey Otomewai, who has quietly been expanding his role throughout 2025.

An NFL veteran in his fourth season,

Otomaiwa was a quiet and forgettable offseason pickup

into a cheap one-year deal by Pittsburgh.

He impressed enough this summer to make the 53-man roster

but began the first month inactive behind Logan Lee.

Coming out of the by, Otom Maywa switched and got the hat over

Lee. He mopped up against Cleveland and then saw just a lone snap against Green Bay. Since, though,

his work and his role have increased. Nine snaps both against the Colts and Chargers,

a season high 14 versus the Bengals. He's played more as a base defensive

end and occasional pass rusher as the team's lone lineman in its three outside linebacker

package. With Derek Harmon out against Buffalo due to a knee injury, Otamaywa is going to have

a chance to play a lot more. He probably won't start rookie Yaya Black figures to get

that nod, but Otom Maywa is next man up at both end spots. Lee will likely dress again and

nose tackle Broderick Martin Rhodes is ticketed to make his Steelers debut too, but Otto Maywall has a

chance to take advantage of a real opportunity. He's a little undersized and will have to combat against a Buffalo run game that ranks

number one in the NFL.

But Otomaiwa is a name to know as Pittsburgh's most forgotten player on the team.
