Pretty amazing news yesterday late in the day.

I don't know if you caught it, but Adnan Syed has been released from prison.

His case was the one that serial, the NPR podcast serial, focused on.

He was accused of killing.

He was in high school, and he was accused of killing his 17-year-old girlfriend, Heyman Lee.

And even though the evidence was sketchy and circumstantial and the story never quite came together,

he was convicted of murder. He spent more than 20 years behind bars. And now they vacated that conviction.

I guess they can try him again. He walked out of court completely free to a cheering crowd and his family and friends who've always believed in him.

What's fascinating about this is cereal kind of took podcasting mainstream.

Serial, a lot of people give a credit for being the reason why people who didn't even know what a podcast was learned how to download one and listen to one.

And then they never gave up.
