How are you? Most people answer that question with fine or good. But obviously it's not

always fine and it's usually not even that good. This is a podcast that asks people to

be honest about their pain. To just be honest about how they really feel, about the hard

parts of life. And guess what? It's complicated.

It's a weird time to be a teacher. First of all, you know, I have been teaching for the

last seven years at a Title I school, where damn near all of our students have trauma and,

you know, socioeconomic factors that are barriers to their learning. And in so many ways barriers

to their functioning in these spaces. And all of that said, I love our students so much.

It is heartbreaking sometimes to see the deck stacked against them.
