Boomabungu is a monumental structure complex that sits high above the Andes Plateau.

Constructed sometime during the 5th or 6th century AD, large slabs that form gateways and

curiously cut stones are all that remain of this one's wondrous construction.

Local legends from the Native people of Bolivia still revere Boomabungu as the place where

the world began.

Another legend held by the Native Shwar people of Ecuador places the birthplace of humanity

within a system of caves set within the Andes Mountains.

Since the 1960s, explorers of these caves have reported finding treasure troves of gold

and mysterious artifacts within the extensive system of caverns.

In 1976, a well-provisioned and well-staffed expedition set out to locate the source of

these reports.

Their primary concern was a set of metal plaques and sheets said to be among the treasures

that may have had printed on them the history of a previously unknown advanced civilization.
