Baptist Church where I come from where I preached this morning.

I hope, Brad, that you're right about everything you said in your preliminary remarks except for one thing.

It really was a good sunset tonight.

You out here who live further out from the downtown where I live may get used to sunsets and think well that's just an average

sunset but John Bloom and I who live right smack dab in the middle of Minneapolis, he did just

what you said he was supposed to do. We were driving down the road.

He looks over at this sun and it was just a big blazing gold ball with no clouds.

The way the Lord is going to break in one of these days and banish all other things in the sky.

And he said, just like you said, he supposed to say,

isn't that a great sunset?

So he thought it was great and the greatness rose up in him and he had to tell me it was great and so your point is right but you're wrong about the sun.

The sun was glorious tonight and Jesus is glorious and that is what we're about here.

Now let me try to put a context around what I'm going to say in a few minutes by telling you what drives me to go out and speak to groups like this and leave my church

and take time away from my family and talk.

And it's a vision I have in my mind of the end of the age.

And I take it from Matthew 24.

If you've got a Bible, I would direct your attention to Matthew 24.

This isn't the text I'm going to spend most of my time on, but it's a preliminary text that has fired me up over the last several years to think about what I'm doing in a certain context, especially as the Lord's words apply to the end of the age.

You want to start at verse 9 of Matthew 24.

Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death and you will be hated by all nations for my namesake.

So you just promise for my namesake. So he's just promising. He's promising his disciples that can be hated by all nations,
