My name is Greg Jenner, I'm a public historian author and broadcaster.

I was the chief nerd on the BBC comedy show Horrible History's.

And today we are sailing up the Yanks to River and along the Grand Canal, our ship laden

with wares for the great markets of Tang Dynasty China, and to help me poke around the stalls

In History Corner, she's an assistant professor of history at Mulemberg College in Pennsylvania,

in the USA, and is an expert on foreign relations in pre-modern China.

She's one of the co-authors of a new companion to the global early Middle Ages.
