My name is Chris.

And my name is Jason.

And this is episode number 732, recorded on Monday, December the 29th, 2025.

0:44.6

Jason, it's almost the end of 2025.

0:45.8

Oh, thank God.

0:49.8

Just a few more days to go. And then we start a fresh new year known as 2026.

2:18.4

Yeah. And I've been thinking that I'm hoping that this is the okayest year yet. The okayest year coming up, eh? That's all I want. I just want an okay year. That's it. Oh, yeah. You know what? I mean, really what else can you ask for? Just okay. Yeah. I mean, that's, that would be great, actually. I agree with you there. No, it would be okay. It's the, right. It's the 29th. I can't see you because your camera doesn't work. So that's throwing me off a little bit. I'm sorry. Yeah, I've had hardware change on my computer and it's messing things up. I don't know why the camera's not working. Who the hell knows? Yeah, you may never know because by this time, next time we record, maybe it'll just be working. Who knows? I sure hope so. Yeah. Well, one way or the other, it'll work. Okay, you'll figure it out. I'm sure you will. But right now it's weird. So everyone who's listening, usually I can see Jason. He can see me. Yeah, very voyeuristic. Yeah, but I can't see him. It's kind of unsettling. How was your Christmas holidays, sir? It's been a few days since Christmas Day. What did you do? What did you have? Did you have a good time? I had a good time. We didn't do a whole lot of, a whole lot. You know, setting up a, you know, the computer for my son. So we spent the day, me explaining what a CPU is, what RAM is. Oh my God in RAM. It's, it's, it's, in RAM. They're calling it Ramageddon.

2:20.5

It's super nuts buying RAM sticks now are, is, I bought, last time I bought RAM was about

2:28.3

a year and a half ago and the price has raised from $129 for the 32 gigabytes of RAM, two sticks, to just a little over $630 at the moment.

2:40.6

That's insane.

2:41.8

It is insane.

2:42.7

So luckily, when I set up a new computer for my son, what I did was I stole two sticks

2:47.0

of RAM out of my computer and put it in his.

2:49.4

So it cost zero, which was nice. I have less RAM, but I don't care. He has RAM and I don't have to pay those exorbitant crazy prices right now. It's stupid. What's the problem? What is there a shortage of that's making computer memory so expensive? Yeah, all the AI companies are buying up all the RAM. Oh, I see. So it's just not out there.

3:10.1

Yeah. Yeah, it's, uh, it's all those sons, some bitches. Right. And now is that only DDR5 RAM? Can you still get

3:18.9

DDR4? It's like it's still available. I think you can get DDR4. Right. And you can also get, if you're hard off, you know, buy some laptop RAM and get a, you can buy RAM sticks that are, that'll convert your laptop RAM into desktop RAM.

3:35.4

Ooh, sneaky.

3:36.3

I see.

3:36.9

Okay.
