Summary

This week on The RE–CAP Show, Tobin and Christen start with a bigger question: what responsibility do athletes have to use their platform — especially when wearing the crest? From there, they sit down with U.S. Women’s National Team forward Ally Sentnor, fresh off camp, to talk about what it really takes to make it at the highest level. From flipping Candyland boards as a kid to leading at the U-20 World Cup, she opens up about extraordinary drive, earning trust as a goal scorer, navigating the “free-flowing bridge” between youth and senior teams, and what it means to wear the U.S. crest in complicated times. We talk killer instinct, leadership mistakes, platform responsibility, and why being “ordinary” might just be her superpower. New episodes every week. Watch the video version of the show on YouTube. Is it true? I heard a story that when you left camp, you basically shook the coach's hand and said, like, I basically like never want to see you again?

0:08.0

No!

0:09.0

Did that never ever happen?

0:10.0

Well, no, she said that. She hopes that she doesn't see me again.

0:14.0

Oh, the 23 coach said that team.

0:16.0

I said me too.

0:18.0

Okay, perfect.

Today we are starting by continuing the conversation about athletes using their platforms for good. A couple episodes ago, you know, you Tobin shared, I think the words, I will

0:46.0

never be silent or we will never be silent on this show. And it started to spur a conversation

0:51.4

in our household about the responsibility of an athlete

0:54.6

to use their platform and what that looks like.

0:57.2

So I wanted to hear to kick things off for today.

1:01.3

Your thoughts on what is an athlete's obligation at a time like this?

1:06.7

Yeah, it's super interesting.

1:08.2

I always felt like with the US Women'sash team because we wore the crest and we represented our country that we almost had an obligation to say something. And that was taught to us by our predecessors, you know, the generations before they always stood up. And the fight never looks the same, but that team always stands up to fight.

1:30.7

And I felt like during our generation, you kind of go through a process where in the beginning,

1:37.2

you're just happy to be there. You're happy to play soccer. You're fully focused towards like your goals there. But then as you evolve on that team, obviously the

1:47.6

responsibilities of the leaders on that team to kind of teach you what that looks like so that by

1:53.9

the time it's your turn to use your voice and your platform and lead the younger generation,

2:00.3

you're ready for it. So I feel like there is a bit of an
