Overall, this NCAA tournament's been one of the most chalky that we've seen and something we actually talked about and expected.

So since that's the case, there seems to be a lot of talk about how NIL has suddenly ruined Cinderella, or ruined

March Madness, and no Cinderella story will ever be written again when you look at the power

conferences that represent and make up most of the Sweet 16, if not all of it.

But to those people, like Stephen A. Smith and some others who have put on social media that March Madness is dead due to NIL, how quickly we forget.

Last year, Yale beat Auburn.

There was NIL then. Oakland beat Kentucky. James Madison beat Wisconsin.

Three years ago, St. Peters, that's right, St. Peter's made the elite eight. And two years

ago, FAU made a final four. NIL was still alive back then. So any suggestion that now NIL

is totally ruined March Madness, to me you don't have enough data to even make that case.

Now, if we have three to four tournaments that are like this back to back to back, we can start to have that conversation.

But it's just people freaking out too early.

In fact, we were actually due for this scenario after all the crazy Cinderella stories that we've had recently.

So will NIL ruin March Madness in the long run?

I think their debate could be there, but using one year of data to make that assumption
