Summary

It was 2006, and ten year old Zachary Miller was enjoying the summer on his family’s farm near the tiny town of Whitewood, Saskatchewan. A man walked up the driveway with a teenage boy, wanting to buy eggs—and Zach's life would never be the same again.

This is me, this is what happened, and this is how we made it through.

It was 2006 and 10-year-old Zachary Miller was enjoying the summer on his family's farm.

They lived near the tiny town of Whitewood, Saskatchewan,

and tended to a range of animals.

Zach was the second youngest of six kids.

He was outgoing and inquisitive and loved the farm life.

He enjoyed helping out in his family's shop, as well as exploring the farm and building things.

As is common with many farms, the Miller family often sold eggs to locals via a sign at the end of the driveway, saying,

eggs for sale. One day that summer, a man and a boy came down the driveway to buy some eggs.

Zach stood by as the man introduced himself to Zach's parents as Robert Summers

and introduced the 14-year-old boy with him as his nephew.

After making some light conversation, Robert and his nephew left with the eggs they just

purchased. Robert seemed like a decent guy, very amicable and friendly.
