How often have you wondered about whether there was life after death?

0:08.8

Sometimes we shrink in terror and in doubt when we contemplate something as

0:15.0

wonderful as heaven purports to be. We sometimes are assaulted by the

0:21.0

idea that's just too good to be true. A couple of years ago my wife and

0:31.3

I were involved in a train accident in Alabama where more people were killed

0:38.6

in that train wreck than in all the rest of the accidents of Amtrak in their

0:44.7

history combined and when we survived that we had newspaper reporters

0:51.3

poking microphones in our faces and asking questions like why were you so

0:57.5

lucky as to survive this and why would God allow you to survive and while he

1:04.1

took these other people's lives and I've often thought about that and one of

1:09.9

the things that pops into my mind is the assumption behind that question that I

1:15.8

was the lucky one because had I not survived the train wreck I'd be home I

1:23.1

would be in heaven what's the big deal but we'd matchfully assume that we'll

1:29.9

cling to life in this world desperately fearful that what lies beyond is

1:37.6

worse but for those who are going to heaven the bliss that God has stored up for

1:44.6

you is unworthy to be compared with any joy or any delight we cling to in this

1:51.6

life.
