So, without further ado, I'm going to hand over to Taryn Siegel, one of our producers here at The Story.

So I'm just walking along the beachfront in Tel Aviv past the skateboarding park.

This is a country that's been at war for best part of 16 months.

to realise that all is not quite as it should be.

But at the time on Friday, both sides were frozen, with hope and with fear. No hostages at that

You know, there are yellow ribbons signifying the campaign to bring the hostages home everywhere. The faces of the hostages are plastered on every wall, every window, every bench.
