Summary

Episode 302 features a discussion with astrologer Demetra George about the meaning of the Sun in astrology, and some astrological techniques associated with it. During the course of the episode we read through some excerpts from different ancient and modern astrologers in order to see how they conceptualized what the Sun signifies in an astrological chart. We also talk about some different techniques that are used in astrology that involve the Sun, such as the solar phase cycle, different heliacal phenomena, under the beams, combustion, cazimi, sect, and more. This is a followup to episode 294 with Israel Ajose where we looked at the meaning of the Moon in astrology, as the second installment in our series on each of the planets. 0:23.5	Hey Chris, it's terrific to connect with you and all of your listeners.
0:29.4	Yeah, I'm really excited to have you back on the show and excited to have this discussion
0:33.6	because in volume one of your book, Ancient Astrology, you had a pretty huge section
0:38.8	dealing with the sun and dealing with different solar phenomenon related to the sun.
0:43.4	So that's something we'll get into today. And then I just recently got in the mail, the proof copy
0:48.4	of volume two of your book, which is going to be coming out pretty soon in the next,
0:52.7	it's going to be available for pre-order in the next month and then probably in print
0:56.8	the following month, right? Right. We've been expecting it like any month for about two years now,
1:02.7	but my publisher is ready to make the pre-publication order announcement within the next couple of
1:10.8	weeks. So that means it's really, really close and it's been, it'll be fantastic to have that
1:19.4	completed. It's been for me really officially a 20-year project and if I add going back to graduate
1:28.4	school and learning Greek, it extends even more years than that. Yeah, it's like 25 years.
1:35.6	25 years. So I feel grateful that I've had the opportunity to take that tradition
1:44.8	to the best of my understanding, which is my no means complete, but put it in the form so that
