Oh, I am more than happy to be here as ever, especially since we're talking teen soaps, which is my special interest.

And this is going to be the first time I've ever done an episode for Fluently Forward on a TV show or a movie where I haven't seen the TV show.

And when it comes to the summer, I turn pretty.

I know what's going on because I spend way too much time on TikTok,

so I see the clips, more of them populate in my algorithm. But you are going to be kind of our

guiding light for this episode as we cover the main three characters, Bella, Jeremiah, and

Conrad. And we see what's going on with the actual characters IRL. And interestingly interestingly just how similar they seem to be from

their characters in the show. Now, I was thinking maybe we could start off and I'll kind of explain

what I think happened in the show and you can tell me how accurate it is. And the other thing

that I feel that I should mention here is that this is a couple of layers of, like, dissonance, because you haven't seen the show. I'm obsessed with the show, but it's also based on a book series that I haven't read. Yeah. So like there's a lot of things happening here, but I think that's a great plan. Yeah. But what I do know is the gossip, which is kind of the crowning rule. That's the important part. Who cares about facts and logic, you know?

Now, my understanding of the summer I turn pretty is that there's a main character named Belly.

She's played by Lola Tong. And she grew up, like, spending her summers with these two brothers, Jeremiah and Conrad, and they're both

hot. I think Conrad's more of, like, a mysterious brooding type, and Jeremiah is more like

party boy. And I guess that they were like all friends, and maybe she was awkward, but then one

summer, she turned pretty. And then suddenly puberty was amongst everybody. And she ends up dating like both of the brothers. I think she dated Conrad first. And then they broke up. And then she dated Jeremiah. And then he proposed to her with a really, really tiny ring. But Conrad still has feelings for her. And I think that's what's going on. How close am I?

Like, you hit all of the major high points. I'd say the only thing that you missed, which,

funnily enough, is, like, never discussed in, like, fan groups. Is this, like, really sad backstory

that Jeremiah and Conrad's mom also has terminal cancer.

I'm okay. I also did hear that Jeremiah is bisexual because of course I... Yeah. Sorry, that was a massive... Yes. Well, okay, hold on. Let me say. Jeremiah is bisexual.
