Tonight's Maked Up Story is a request from my two kids, Jonah and Jesse, and Jesse asks for the story to be about a dinosaur that could float.

And Jonah asks for the story to be about a magic door.

And today, we all went panning for gold in an old gold mine, and we also went to a fair

in New Zealand.

Once upon a time, a long time ago, there were two kids named Jonah and Jesse.

Jonah and Jesse lived in a house that was made of a lot of logs, and Jonah and Jesse's log house was in middle of a forest that was world famous for its red trees

that were made of licorice.

And the licorice trees in this forest got really tall and really thick,

and in the inside of them there is kind of a lot of sugar that they used to make candy.

And Jonah and Jesse were out exploring one day.

And Jonah was holding Jesse's hand, and he said,

Jesse, did you ever wonder why the trees in our forest have so much sugar in them?

And Jesse said he didn't know.

And Jonah told Jesse that he had a clue that it's because there was a lot of sugar

in the ground. So Jonah and Jesse decided to start digging. Normally when kids dig, they use a shovel

or a stick or their fingers and they give up after a little bit.

But that day, Jonah and Jesse stayed in one spot the whole afternoon,

and they took turns shoveling, and when one got tired, the brother would shovel,

until they found a really, really deep hole in front of them.
