My friend, Alistair Humphries, has traveled around the world.

He's an author, photographer and a motivational speaker.

In 2011, National Geographic honored him as an adventure of the year.

Not for his feet around the world.

But for changing how we look at adventure.

There was kind of a eureka moment actually in that I really start to think that it was possible to have an adventure anywhere.

And it was more just a state of mind and committing to get off your backside and go do something with your life.

And I figured that if that was true, you could do it anywhere.
