I'm going to start with a question that's popular among internet search queries.

And that is, who were the stewards?

And what is their origin story?

Well, it's a good question because the Stuarts as a dynasty, a royal dynasty,

have kind of two phases, if you like,

to their story because the Stuarts as a dynasty were kings of Scotland from right back in the

Middle Ages, from back in the 14th century. And the name actually, interestingly, the origin is

that Stuart was originally steward.

So it was a court position that was held by one of the ancestors of the ones that are more

familiar to us now, who was a senior official in the court of Robert the Bruce.
