Susan Walsh was born in 1960.

She attended William Patterson University where she studied English and writing,

and she worked at the college newspaper.

To help pay for her tuition, she had also begun working as a stripper,

and it was said that she took drugs during her time at college,

although she did graduate with a bachelor's degree in 1988, and from there she tried to make it as a writer.

Sometimes she got freelance gigs writing for technical and business magazines, but her career did not sore.

Later, she managed to get work with Screw Magazine, which was described as a weekly pornographic

tabloid-style publication.

In 1984, she married Mark Walsh, the brother of the Eagles band member Joe Walsh.

They had a son together in 1985, called David.

When their relationship disintegrated, they began to live separately, and at the time of her unexplained disappearance, her husband lived in an apartment directly below Susan's in Nutley, New Jersey.

Susan was enrolled at New York University where she was taking a master's degree, and she was still working as a stripper to make ends meet, while also trying

to get writing gigs. She'd recently lost sobriety after being free of drinking drugs for 11 years.

It was July the 16th, 1996, when Susan vanished. That day, she told her living boyfriend

Christian, who claimed to be a vampire, so she was just popping out to make a phone call.

In those days, there were no mobile phones, and she had a pager for people to reach her on.

She took her son downstairs to leave him in the care of her ex-husband, and left the apartment

building to use one of the phone boxes down the road. She never returned. The European independent said people
