Today, the second episode of our two-part special the strange death of Jose de Jesus. The number of deaths of people in immigration detention this fiscal year has doubled. And so we're bringing back on the air an award-winning

investigation that originally aired in 2016. Last week we brought you

episode one of The Strange Death of Jose de Jesus.

Today here's the second and final part of our investigation.

We've been telling the story of Jose de Jesus Denise Saguen. He was found dead at the Eiloy

immigration detention facility in Arizona in 2015, with a sock stuffed down his throat.

Producers Marlon Bishop, Finanha Chavari, and myself

first reported our investigation about his death in 2016 as a way to tell a larger story about the

conditions inside these immigration detention facilities.

When we left off last week, we had just received a package in the mail containing surveillance footage from the

Eloy Detention Facility from the exact day that Jose de Jesus died.

We had requested it from the local police department.

We hoped it would provide us with some clues

as to exactly what happened to Jose de Jesus?
