All right, welcome to history class.

Today is one of our days.

It's one of our history days when we are exploring who the signers of the Declaration

of Independence were.

We want to know who they were not only, but also what they believed in, what they stood for, what their,

when they pledged their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor to one another.

We want to explore that character. What did they possess that caused them to make such a statement? Some of them made that statement, signed their names to that document,

and they didn't even vote for independence, but because the body voted for it, because it was indeed the will of the people,

they clambered on board and ended up signing their name.

We want to know who they were.

We want to know what in the world, what made these people,

what gave them this internal constitution. And so that's the impetus behind these history

classes that we've been doing this year in regard to the signers of the Declaration,

in honor of the signers of the Declaration, in honor of the signers of the

declaration, in honor, of course, of 250 years of that glorious document, giving us glorious

liberty. I shouldn't say that the document gave us liberty. The document exposed us to liberty,

but didn't give it.

Jefferson lists liberty as an inalienable right, which as you and I know, along with Speaker

Johnson, that that means it's a right that comes from God and not from government.

I played this clip the other day of some MS now, Anchoret, asking her panel,

because, just because Speaker Johnson said that our rights come from God and not from government,

this Anchorette asked her panel, is this, is this Speaker Johnson putting God above the Declaration of Independence?
