Recently, my mom gave me a copy of a book called Two Chairs.

I have to admit that it sat on my table for a few months, but I finally picked it up and started reading it.

Just the first chapter made a really deep impression on me.

I won't give it all away, but it talks about the importance of a two-way conversation in prayer.

Most of us pray pretty regularly.

I myself pray throughout the day, but this book made me realize that I don't leave a lot of room for God to speak back to me. So I'm trying to incorporate that into my prayer time. I highly

recommend the book, even though I haven't finished reading it yet.

It reminds me of tonight's story.

The Story of Samuel.

In one part of the story, God is calling out to him. He is speaking to him.

And Samuel did not know that it was God.

Maybe you can try in your prayers to have a little quiet time,

to listen for that still small voice, and say,

Speak, Lord, thy servant heareth.
