We are continuing slowly in our projectory, in our series of the prophets, the stories of

the series of the prophets, and today insha'Allah we will begin part one of the next major

figure in the Qur'an, and that is the prophet Nuh alayhi s-salam.

And today's lecture will be somewhat tedious but it is a necessary step before we proceed

onwards.

And that is we are going to survey what the Qur'an and what the Ahadith tell us about

the prophet Nuh alayhi s-salam.

So today's lecture is going to be basically the background information from our textual

traditions.

And then insha'Allah will go on and try to reconstruct and maybe bring in some other

aspects as well of interesting tangents that are necessary for the story.

But today we are going to have to do the part one, if you like, of the longer project

of trying to look at the story chronologically by first giving us the data points, because

as I've said multiple times, what we are especially interested in is what the Qur'an and what
