Summary

When Séverin Larose was a kid, he would hang out with his cousin and watch him play games. That’s the key word: watch. Larose’s parents long had a zero tolerance policy for games. Decades later, Larose would partner with his cousin to rise to the top of the Flash game charts and eventually create one of the best Metroidvania games of the past few years, Minishoot’ Adventures. (And, yes, by the end of this interview you’ll understand the apostrophe thing.)

about, you know, in this interview, like, like what got them interested in making a game

1:10.1

with this sort of specific mashup,

1:11.7

how that came out of their origin story, which is in the Flash Newgrounds community,

1:17.8

and then leading them to making a game like minishute adventures.

1:20.9

You might wonder to yourself, I looked at minishoot adventures, Patrick, and it's got this

1:24.8

curious little bit in the title in which there's an apostrophe.

1:29.4

Why is there an apostrophe in mini shoot adventures? Mini shoot apostrophe adventures. You will find the

1:33.8

answer to that at the end of this interview. In fact, this game is easily going to be one of my

1:39.1

top 10 of the year, even though it originally came out in 2024. And I was looking up a press

1:43.4

contact to chat with these developers
