Today Zigg will share one of his favorite stories.

It's about a man by the name of Ben Hooper, but it starts

when Ben was just a little boy. Let's listen together to Ziegziegler.

In his book, Rising Above the Crowd, Brian Harbor tells a story of Little Ben Hooper.

He was born in the hills of East Tennessee.

They did not know who his father was. In those days, kids who did not know who his father was.

In those days, kids who did not know who their fathers were were ostracized.

They were treated horribly.

Parents would even let their children play with that child,

as if the child had anything at all to do with his own birth.

Little Ben had an absolutely horrible childhood.

Six years old, they put him in the first grade.

No kindergarten in those years. He had his own little

desk, all the other kids had desks too. At recess, the other kids would go out and play together.

Little Ben stayed in his desk and studied because the kids wouldn't play with him.

At lunch he took his little sack lunch, went off ate by himself.
