You're hearing a band playing together, and that had gone out of style by the time Prince

decided to return to it.

And I mean, you know, that whole diamond and pearl era, it was just nasty, funky, greasy,

you name it.

When do you feel like the NPG, like that first iteration of the NPG, really gelled?

I would say once we brought Rose, then it's like, let's go.

And we'll dig into some of the 47 previously unheard tracks that will be released from

Princess Walt this fall, as part of the expanded re-issue of Diamonds and Pearls.
