Our first, first we talk with Jim McNair of Aiken Golf Club.

We did this on a visit to Aiken in February. I was blown away with Aiken. I think it's just a wonderful

golf course. It's about 25 minutes from Augusta National, so anybody going down to the Masters, highly recommend adding

Aiken to your itinerary. Go play it. It doesn't take long to play it's very affordable for the Masters Week and if you're in the area and haven't played it if you're within two hours three hours driving distance, haven't played it.

It is an awesome golf course.

Usually, I think most golf courses that get heaped with praise are exclusive private

clubs high in the rankings or the big dollar resorts but in my mind I find courses like Aiken that are able to provide an

unbelievable architectural experience at a price that any golfer can afford to be the golf courses that deserve the most praise and the ones that kind of fulfill you the most when you play. You think about him the longest and Aiken's just a special place.

So we talk with Jim about his family, their ownership of Aiken and the story of it, the history of the course, and then I call up my buddy

Blake Conant, who's a shaper for Tom Dokkin Renaissance golf Design to talk a little bit more about the course from an architect's perspective.
