Summary

The Stories and the Songs is a new podcast series that focuses on the history and culture of Celtic the club as well as the supporters and players.

*This episode was recorded in February 2020 but it's very relevant in the current climate*

In this episode we do something a little different……..

Chris Gallagher is joined by Mark Braceland as they look into the history of the Irish in Glasgow, as well as Scotland, and how the culture and landscape changed.

We look into the famine and the massive influx of Irish into Scotland, how they settled and the devastating conditions they lived in.

We then look into the political and social aspect of Irish immigration and how that led to the founding of Hibernian, Dundee Hibernian and eventually Glasgow Celtic.
