All right so it's September 20th. How are you looking at the market?

0:23.5

What are you thinking about macro, micro, how are you looking at things?

0:28.1

Sure.

0:29.1

So, look, I start out with everything.

0:32.2

My number one investment rule is called a b b i'd be a big loss and and and the

0:36.8

corollary to that is any investment can go up in value at any time. So really the emphasis every time I look at the markets, which is always, I'm looking

0:50.1

first at okay where can I really really get hurt and also try not to make it too

0:57.8

complicated so here's how I see things right now. And in terms of evaluation, I keep something called the

1:06.8

the roar score, reward opportunity and risk. It's a zero to 100 scale.

1:13.4

That's how I tend to think of all investing

1:18.8

with the idea that if it's a cash and stock world and that's all you're limited to. I even run a little

1:26.8

a little portfolio for myself with with just a cash E. T. F. and the stock E. T. T. F. and I rotate it. So that roar score has been, is at 30 right now. It's

1:42.1

been between probably zero and 30, which means that less than half of

1:48.0

that stock cash portfolio has been on the stock side. It's generally been below 40 since like August of 2022, 13 months ago. And here's why. T bills are very tough competition for stocks. I think it all starts with air, you know, again, one of my my hard and fast rules is, you know, it's a complex business, but there's a limit to how complex you have to make it and you know for a lot of folks who are in retirement mode or approaching it you know and I'm not sure that younger investors necessarily understand this yet as much as they should, but 5% you know on one year T bills to wait it out for a year or even getting close to two years, wow.

2:37.3

So, look, I mean, the stock market has been very resilient.

2:42.8

And I think I know why.

2:44.6

I mean, the news is okay, but nothing is broken.
