It's a rare condition in this day and age to go online and not feel some rage.

Today we're talking about the Urkel effect.

This was actually spurned on by a, Ask Reddit post where they said like, hey,

have you guys ever like what other types of media where it happened where a character comes in

and just totally takes over a thing? And I'd always been fascinated by the Family Matters story.

Yes. Right. And this is a sequel of sorts in the sense that we talked about Urkel on the history of the nerd. We're going to get much deeper into Erkel today. Yes. Also, it's kind of a companion episode. It's sort of the opposite of the poochy episode. Scrappy Doe Effect episode where something comes in kind of after a thing as Jump the Shark.

We're also going to be talking about Fonzie today.

I think the difference is artificially trying to say something and something organically.

Kind of accidentally happening and just the fans glomming on to it.

By the way, just to start things off, this is from a different Reddit post.

Also from Reddit, though, I was having a discussion with some friends the other day,

and we all distinctly remember a show called The Steve Urkel Show.

Wow.

That we believed was a spinoff of the popular sitcom Family Matters.
