anybody still call it that anyway state pension it can be an easy target for our

scorn you know I've lost count of the number of times people have said to me well is

it really going to be worth anything well will it still be there when I retire?

Well it's easy to sort of poor scorn on it,

particularly if you're a long way away from receiving it, but I have never yet

met a pensioner who isn't glad to receive the state pension. So maybe we just need to understand it better.

Today I want to give you what you need to know and what you need to do to make the most of the

state pension, extremely valuable benefit. So that's where we're going today after the main body

retirement income. It's a sort of useful minimum income which comes to us each week or every four weeks or whatever and it will
