Summary
Last night, an ever-sleepy Joe Biden mustered all his strength to deliver one very feeble State of the Putin, err... State of the Union address. Fortunately (or unfortunately), Senator Ted Cruz stayed awake through the whole thing this year, and he joins Michael Knowles now, hot off the House chamber for a midnight analysis of what went down in the ring. Our favorite Senator shares what happened that you may not have seen watching at home, how his colleagues reacted on the floor, and what the actual state of our union may be.

| 0:00.0 | Intruderic fashion. It is now midnight on the East Coast. Senator Ted Cruz has just come back |
| 0:07.6 | from the Capitol after what I hope was a very edifying hour and a half long nap during the |
| 0:14.9 | worst state of the Union address that I have ever seen in my lifetime. It's not just a partisan bomb. |
| 0:21.6 | I am not being hyperbolic. I've watched a lot of them. It was very difficult. And I at least was |
| 0:26.8 | able to sit on a nice cushy chair and drink Scotch. Senator, you have truly impressed me tonight. |
| 0:32.6 | You are still going. You may still be sleeping for all I know. What did you see at the Capitol? |
| 0:39.2 | Well, you're right that I just left the Capitol and it was a long speech. This is the 10th state of |
| 0:45.6 | the Union that I have sat on the floor of the House of Representatives and listened to. |
| 0:51.0 | The third president from whom I've heard of state of the Union. And I agree with your assessment |
| 0:55.0 | that this was the most out of touch state of the Union I've ever seen. For one thing Joe Biden |
| 1:02.7 | was reading the teleprompter and was on steady. He was unsure. His hands were shaking. |
| 1:10.9 | You could really see his age. And the speech it made brief acknowledgements of the challenges |
| 1:19.9 | that are facing the country. But it totally ignored Biden's responsibility for those challenges. |
| 1:26.4 | So he mentioned inflation. Didn't say a word about the trillions and spending and trillions in |
| 1:30.9 | debt that it's causing the inflation. He mentions gas prices going through the roof. Didn't say a |
| 1:36.1 | word about the policies of the administration making domestic exploration so much harder driving |
| 1:43.2 | gas prices through the roof. He talked about the need to secure the southern border. Didn't say a |
| 1:47.1 | word about his administration's policies refusing to enforce the border. He talked about |
| 1:51.7 | Russia invading Ukraine. Didn't say a word about his waving sanctions on Nord Stream to his weakness |
| 1:58.3 | towards Putin. Before we get into the state of the Putin as I was calling it, which was the first |
| 2:03.8 | you know 10 or 15 minutes of this speech on the point that you just brought up on securing the |
| 2:08.0 | border. I thought that was genuinely sort of surprising because the Democrats have been |
