Summary

Major League Baseball made some changes to the way the game is played in recent years. Some of the new rules include bigger bases, limits on shifting, and a new pitch timer.

The minor leagues were the testing grounds for these new rules. But many teams are finding their own ways to make the game engaging for the community. Even ones not affiliated with the MLB are trying to make it worth it for a family spending a hot summer day in the stadium.

These days going to see a major league team is a commitment. Games including snacks and souvenirs are expensive and long.

Which may lead some fans to get restless. So major league baseball took action.

They introduced changes to the way the games played for the 2023 season.

But some of those changes struck up some controversy as MLB sought to address player safety and well make the game more exciting.

We heard from some of you who told us you prefer for the minor leagues anyway.

I've never been a baseball person but I very much support my local team, the Richmond flying squirrels.

Because of all of the great things I do for our community.

And the upper Midwest were fortunate to have the collegiate wood bats, north woods league, including our very own Madison Mallards.

But my team that I enjoy is actually a minor league team to Charlotte night.

They are just such an amazing group of people.

It's a fun time and small ballpark and it's great for kids. My league is the way to go. That's the great, great, great experience.
