0:00.0	Hello history friend. Welcome to When Diplomacy Fails podcast. Or maybe I should call you political friend, because in the next two episodes for a conversation I had with Tom Daly, a
0:23.6	long time podcast friend who's been on the show before, we get into an awful lot of stuff
0:29.9	that is going on in modern day America. So here's a few details in advance so you know what to
0:35.3	expect. First of all, these episodes were actually recorded
0:38.7	with a little bit of distance between them. What happened was, I invited Tom on, we talked about
0:44.3	a lot of foreign policy stuff, we never really got around to the legal domestic aspects of what
0:51.1	Trump is doing. So, in our infinite wisdom, we decided to divide this episode
0:56.4	into its more natural two parts. I'll be talking mostly in the first part about foreign policy,
1:03.2	talking at you with a lot of rage and enthusiasm and in some cases despair, and Tom will be covering the domestic aspects with the
1:13.2	same energy, I am sure. I want to say a huge thanks to Tom for coming on. He gave me three plus
1:19.2	hours of his time and getting us together and relying on Irish broadband. It's not always easy,
1:24.8	but we made it work. And I think what you have here is a really
1:27.7	comprehensive picture of exactly what it is that I find so objectionable about this Trump administration.
1:35.5	And look, if you're still listening after I just said that, then that probably means you agree
1:39.7	with me. But if you don't, if you are in fact a Republican with a capital or, or if you are in fact
1:47.3	a maga, then, wow, fair play to you for continuing to listen. There's something I want to get
1:53.0	into, though, because I have really since putting out that last episode a few, well, jeepers
1:59.8	and must be about a month ago now. But ever since
2:01.9	putting that episode out, I've kind of been drawn to this idea that while many of you don't
2:08.3	come here for politics, you actually did gain quite a lot from me talking about it. So that
2:14.3	kind of got me thinking a bit more. And I know there are those of you who don't want to
