Welcome back to another episode of the Adam Schaefter podcast, the regular season opening podcast.

0:14.5

In today's episode, we will be joined by the co-CEO of the Washington football team, Tanya Snyder, as she sits down,

0:25.0

I believe, and gives her first in-depth podcast interview on the state of affairs with the

0:31.7

Washington football team. And then we'll be joined by the ESPN analytics guru, Evan Kaplan,

0:37.2

as he breaks down this week's big

0:39.7

matchups between Mack Jones and Tua Turingo Tungle by Loa, Patrick Mahomes and Baker Mayfield,

0:44.5

and all the other notable action from week one. And it's hard to imagine that we are here,

0:51.2

but we are. That offseason goes very quickly. And on Sunday morning, this past

1:11.2

shave for Sunday NFL countdown, could take my time on a leisurely Sunday morning on Labor

1:18.1

Day weekend. And then as I laid there, the thought occurred to me that this will be the last time

1:32.4

the season? Of course, we're always excited about football season. There's no other way to

1:37.6

be. But it's a little like asking, are you excited to go run a marathon, 26.2 miles? Well, yes, you're excited. You've trained. You're

1:46.4

ready. You've thought about it. But the idea of the 26.2 miles that lay in front of you are daunting.

1:53.4

And we are about to embark all of us on this marathon that is the NFL season, a marathon that

1:59.7

will have twists and turns and take us in directions

2:03.0

that we weren't planning. The NFL managed to get through last season, the COVID season,

2:09.3

without any cancellations of any games. But this year, the league is going to be challenged the way

2:17.1

that society is challenged with the spread of the Delta variant.
