Summary

Robert Garrison Brown

04.10.1998 - 03.04.2023

On March 4th, beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend Robert Garrison Brown joined his ancestors in the halls of Valhalla. Born to Janelle and Kody Brown, 6th child of a big, unconventional family.

Preceded in death by Sheryl Lee Brown, William Winn Brown, and Curtis Taylor Brown. He is survived by his large, adoring family and his three cats Catthew, Patches, and Ms. Buttons.

We remember him as the coolest dude who lived with a zeal for life, led through his curiosity. He was a world traveler, going to multiple countries and continents. He was a jack of all trades and a master in comedy. He enjoyed being an amateur craftsman and a adventurous photographer. His night sky photography evoked deep emotion. He was a Staff Sergeant in the Army National Guard and a proud CAV Scout. He was in school to become a Nurse because he cared about people.

Robert Garrison knew the best thing to say to make everyone laugh, especially in awkward situations. He made friends everywhere he went and his death leaves all who knew him in immense pain.

Robert Garrison's death is a reminder to tell those you love how you feel and take care of each other. Where do we turn when we miss him? "To the stars, Bowen, to the stars."

What do we do?

Where do we turn?

0:26.6

To the stars.

0:39.4

I'm going to be perfectly honest with you.

0:43.7

I have no idea how to start this episode.

0:45.9

And I've been thinking about it all day.

0:52.7

And this is probably my 20th attempt at starting to record this episode and then going back.

0:55.6

And I hope this is the one that sticks. No idea. I'll probably end up starting over again. But, you know, this is obviously not going to be like

1:03.1

our regular episodes. You know, usually we come on here and our goal is to make you laugh, you know? And

1:10.5

I was like, oh, well, I don't know, maybe I start

1:12.6

off talking about Janelle's sister Carrie being married to a guy named Terry. Like, that could be a

1:17.1

whole 10 minute spiel on what we would normally talk about. That doesn't feel right today. It didn't

1:22.4

feel, you know, it didn't feel right. So I instead, I, and the reason I'm stressing about it is because I want to make sure that we get this right because there are so many people who listen to this podcast. And I think that everyone, whoever you may be, wherever you may be, whatever your background, your status, whatever,

1:48.8

we are all close to this subject in one way or another, whether we've struggled with it,

1:56.0

whether we are struggling with it, whether we've loved someone who has struggled with it,

1:59.6

whether we've lost somebody, like, And so you want to make sure that you say the right things to help people not just get

2:13.2

through watching this episode of a TV show, but to get through whatever it is, whatever

2:20.5

hurdle may be in front of them or whatever grief they may be dealing with. And so,

2:26.3

it's stressful. And nothing seems like the right way to start. Not even Carrie and Terry,
