Also here in Knoxville, Tennessee, although the background might lead you to believe otherwise that he's in Boston, Massachusetts. But no, John Pennington,

the founder, host of Sports Source here in East Tennessee is joining me for the first time

on this very program. John, good afternoon, sir. How are you? Doing good. Doing good. Thanks for

having me. Yeah, the Boston background. It's just,

it's my favorite place. So on all the walls around me, there are, it's Boston paintings, Boston

memorabilia, and that's just a huge mural of my favorite street in Boston, Union Street,

right next to the Union Oyster House. So people are saying, you're going, why is this idiot

have a background of Boston?

It's actually just part of his broom in my house that's kind of Boston-centric. There you. What's your favorite street in Knoxville then? Are you, like, what's your, are you an old city guy? Are you a gay street guy? What's your spot? That's an interesting, probably any of the market square area now. If you asked me when I was your age,

it would have been anywhere in the old city, Jackson and Central. But nowadays, the market square area is really nice. It's impressive how they've blown that whole area up in Gay Street,

too. It's, it's, that was, you know, when I was starting out at WBIR in this town, we were all just desperate

for some sort of downtown nightlife and it just never saved spur.

So missed it by about 20 years, but it's impressive what they've done.

There you go.

And they're going to keep adding, man.

Like, we're going to have the waterfront coming over here.

I'm amazed at what's going to continue to pop up around downtown Knox. Yeah. I mean, that ballpark is going to open up that whole corridor. I mean, they never should have. I was doing another show with Mike Keith, um, broadcast to the Tennessee Titans now many years ago.

And John Wilkerson was also on that show.

And we had the general manager of the Smokies on at the time. And he was pressing, pushing hard to get Mayor Victor Ash in the city of Knoxville to fund a downtown ballpark.

And they didn't do it.
