Happy New Year and welcome to the Monday edition of the Sports Reporters podcast,

which is obviously the continuation of our long-running show on ESPN on Sunday mornings.

We had a wild, and I mean a riv riveting wild wild card weekend in the NFL.

So, and we'll start with the last game we saw, which was probably not the best of the

four because of the injury to Carson Wentz.

And guys, I was amazed, listening to the broadcast and even the aftermath of the broadcast,

that I started to get the idea that Wenz knocked himself out of the game.

And I don't care how many times you look at Clowny's hit on Carson Wins.

And by the way, when he was playing for another team, he put a helmet

into the chest of Nick Foles a year ago. So maybe it's, it's Philly quarterbacks that he's

targeting. He did not have to hit him. They said, well, he hadn't given himself up. You look at

that play. Wentz is on his way to the ground. Clowny takes another step and then puts a helmet on him.

And the fact that there was no flag on that play and that the refs afterwards called

it incidental helmet contact is a bunch of bull.

Everything they do is to protect quarterbacks and protect heads, and they didn't do it,

and they allowed this guy to knock Wentz out of the season yesterday.

Well, I don't know.

I respect your opinion on.

I don't know that I agree wholeheartedly that was that vicious.

In slow motion, whenever you see a helmet hit a helmet, it always looks terrible.
