Good morning and welcome to our second service on Sunday mornings. We're going through the Bible,

verse by verse. And today we are in 1st Timothy, Chapter 5. Lord willing, we'll finish Chapter 5 today.

Word. First Timothy chapter 5, we're going to pick

it up in verse 17. We left off in verse 16 last week. I'll ask those of you here, if you're able to

stand. You can follow along as I read. If not, where you're seated is fine. The Apostle Paul is

writing to Timothy, and this is a very interesting passage of Scripture,

as I think you're going to see here shortly.

Verse 17, he says, the elders who direct the affairs of the church well are worthy of double honor, especially those whose work is preaching and teaching.

For scripture says, verse 18, do not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain,

and the worker deserves his wages. Do not, verse 19, entertain an accusation against an elder unless it is brought by two or three witnesses.

But, verse 20, those elders who are sinning, you are to reprove before everyone so that the others may take warning.

I charge you in the sight of God and Christ Jesus and the elect angels to keep these instructions
