2026. This is a podcast all about Minecraft, and it's available across all of the podcasting

platforms with video versions on YouTube and on Spotify. If you're enjoying the show, please consider subscribing wherever you're listening. My name is Joel Duggan and joining me, as always, is a dusty pixel riffs. Hello, sir. Hello. Yes, I've dusting myself off. We've been dusting off the cozy games that we've been talking about in the render distance. That's the extended version of the show, where I also gave my excuses for why this show is happening on a Tuesday and not a Monday. I was off surprising my mum for her 70th birthday, which went very well. If you want to hear more about that, once again, patreon.com slash the spawn chunks is the place to go to get all the Patreon privileges, including access to the render distance, which is the extended version of the show, has a pre and and post-show chat every week. We also do monthly hangouts. The next one is coming up towards the end of the month on Saturday, March 28th, and we also have a quarterly hangout coming out in early May, where you'll be able to hear some of the behind the scenes, facts and figures, YouTube metrics, download numbers, all of that good stuff. Once again, if you're interested in supporting the show and getting all of that behind the scenes stuff, Patreon.com slash the spawn chunks.

Coming up this week on the show, we will be keep an eye out on the release of Tiny Takeover,

1:22.2

which is probably out by the time you're listening to this later, if you're not with us live in our

1:26.2

Discord. And then we're going to cover the Minecraft Live event that happened on Saturday over the weekend, the first Minecraft Live of 2026, and that talked about the next drop coming. So that's going to dominate our main conversation later today. Yes. And I have very little to contribute to the quick login. So we may as well get me out of the way, because I haven't been in the office over the weekend, so I haven't had a ton of time

1:46.9

to play Minecraft. I did manage to squeeze in a stream on Friday, just to get a bit more

1:51.2

beacon mining done, but yeah, I've had very little time to work on Minecraft stuff other than

1:56.7

that. I am on the last layer of my beacon mine area. This is another 100 by 100 more or less

2:03.8

cube that I am digging out and, well not quite a cube because it's only 30 blocks high. This one has

2:09.4

a geode that's embedded in the wall that is going to be pretty much sticking out of the wall once I'm

2:14.4

done with it. So excited for there to be a little bit of identifying

2:18.5

stuff about this one. And there's also a dripstone cave biome heavily in it, which, uh,

2:23.6

you know, sets the tone for me aging a lot of copper in here because I'm dragging a ton of

2:27.4

copper ore out of the walls every layer that I dig down. That's awesome. I, I don't run into

2:33.4

drip stone caves very much. I tend to, mostly because of the

2:36.9

size of the lush cave that's underneath the mushroom island right now, run into lush caves.

2:41.6

But I feel like just anecdotally, I just don't see them that often. I feel like I run into

2:46.1

lush caves a lot more. Yeah, it's, I think there's certain biomes that are more likely to have them.

2:52.6

I think it's like a dry versus humid kind of thing in terms of like where the world generation

2:57.0

goes, which is going to be interesting when they add another biome to that, a little preview

3:00.7

of Minecraft live stuff.
