This book is a much better version of the first sci-fi story I wrote as a kid, where

everything with a face comes alive and is evil, so a girl gets absolutely walloped by her reflection.

The Space Between Worlds is a sci-fi story where you can visit other universes, but only if the parallel you, is dead.

It's a big hit with people who absorbed their twin in the womb.
