| 0:00.0 | Hi, this is Nancy DeMoss-Wagamuth. Before we start today's program, I want to take just a moment to share my heart about the events of the past few days here in the United States. Whatever your political affiliation or leanings may be, by any measure, I think you'd agree that this has been a chaotic, contentious, and dark season for our country. |
| 0:24.5 | My own heart has been so heavy as I've watched the news reports, and I've read many of the deeply divided responses. |
| 0:33.1 | This is a time for God's people to lament, to grieve over the deep-seated problems our nation is |
| 0:40.5 | facing. These are problems that require divine intervention. And that's why this is a time |
| 0:47.8 | for us to cry out to the Lord, to pray as we have never prayed before. It's no coincidence that in God's Providence, on today's program, we're going to be able to pray as we have never prayed before. |
| 0:58.9 | It's no coincidence that in God's Providence, on today's program, we're going to be looking at a horrendous, violent event that took place shortly after the birth of Christ. |
| 1:04.6 | It involved a demonic attempt to snuff out the light that God had sent into the world. |
| 1:13.0 | And it resulted in the weeping and wailing of mothers and fathers whose precious little ones were viciously murdered. It was a tragic day. |
| 1:21.1 | But no powers of evil could sabotage God's redemptive plan. You see, heaven rules. God was still on his throne that day, |
| 1:32.5 | still working to accomplish his saving purposes in this world. And he is still on his throne today. |
| 1:39.9 | That's why, regardless of what may be going on in our country, we can be people of hope. |
| 1:46.8 | I want to invite you to join me here next Monday on Revive Our Hearts. |
| 1:50.9 | We're going to preempt the program that we had originally planned to air, and I'm going to share some more thoughts on my heart about what's going on in our country from a biblical perspective. |
| 2:03.3 | I want to talk about how we as the people of God are called to respond in such times. And I want to share how this could prove to be a |
| 2:10.0 | season for great gospel opportunity. So I hope you'll join me on Monday and that you'll encourage |
| 2:16.9 | others to do so as well. |
| 2:19.5 | And now, before we continue with today's revive our hearts, would you join me in prayer? |
| 2:25.2 | O Father, we don't know what to do, but our eyes are upon you. |
| 2:33.2 | That was the prayer of the people of God in the Old Testament, and it's our prayer today. |
| 2:39.0 | So, Lord, give us wisdom, give us understanding. |
| 2:43.0 | And I pray, Lord, that we would not at this time point fingers at the sins of others, |
| 2:47.2 | but that we would let you search our own hearts and show us where we may have |
