Well, Merry Christmas, everyone. This is Heidi St. John. I am going to continue today a tradition

0:05.8

that I have held for many years here, that if my podcast falls on a holiday such as Christmas or Easter,

0:14.5

I will usually read a story for the children. Today I'm going to continue that tradition.

0:19.5

So if you're listening to this and you've got some children nearby, gather them around. I think they're going to love this story.

0:25.0

I'm going to read to you a children's story that was recommended to be by my wonderful friend,

0:30.8

Melissa Crabtree, called The Something Wonderful. This is the Heidi St. John podcast. You guys,

0:36.9

Merry Christmas. Stick around. I think

0:38.9

you're going to be encouraged. All right. So I hope you guys are having a great Christmas.

0:52.7

And mom, maybe you are finishing up some last-minute Christmas things, or maybe this is a

0:58.3

really good time for you to get some hot chocolate for your kids while you make something

1:02.8

to eat.

1:03.4

And I will read your kids a story.

1:06.5

So a little fun fact about me, I absolutely love children's books. I love them every day of the

1:13.3

week and twice on Sunday. And it's one of the reasons why I rage so much against what's happening

1:18.5

in our libraries and with children's stories because they should be life-given. We should be

1:22.8

able to sit down with our children and read them a story and have them love it. Last year, I read to you with

1:29.1

my daughter, Sailor, and this year I'm not able to do that. So I'm going to read to you a story

1:35.2

that my friend Melissa introduced me to. And when she told me about it, I was like, oh my goodness,

1:39.4

that's the one. Send it to me and let's read it. So this story is called the Something Wonderful, A Christmas

1:46.2

Story by Karen Hill. Something Wonderful, A Christmas Story by Karen Hill. This book, by the way,

1:53.2

is published via Crossway, and you guys can get access to it. If you love this, I will link back

1:58.6

to it in the show notes today. All right, here we go. Hope you guys are sitting down. Got a blanket, some hot chocolate. Let's read it. If you love this, I will link back to it in the show notes today. All right, here we go.
