Hundreds of millions of Americans travel to weeks between Memorial Day and Labor Day,

maybe to see loved ones who don't live nearby or go to a part of the world that's new,

But tourism is facing something of a backlash with recent anti-tourism demonstrations in places around the world, such

So we asked our on-point listeners how they feel about living in a popular tourist destination.

I live in Charleston, South Carolina, and it is overwhelming the number of tourists

that we have, not just in the summer season,

but all year round, and you can't even move downtown I don't I don't even

know why they enjoy coming because you can't get anywhere it's very sad in a lot of ways because

it's ruined our city.

In Moab, Utah, our tourist economy was growing organically and slowly and

then the state over promoted tourism in our area.

The result was that hotels were overbuilt and now many of the rooms don't fill.
