0:29.8	Weapons today are lighter and faster, more far-reaching, more precise,
0:34.3	nothing like what was used in biblical times.
0:37.3	When it comes to spiritual warfare, the
0:39.2	weapons described in Ephesians 6 remained the Christian soldier's most effective arms. And today
0:45.9	on Truth for Life weekend, Alistur Begg helps us grasp the power of the first weapon we're

1:06.9	namely in commentaries, follow along from verse 17A into the remaining part of 17 and into 18,
1:16.8	and deal with both the sword of the spirit, the word of God, and prayer under the same heading of the armor for the Christian.
1:26.0	But in actual fact, there is a difference between the helmet and all that
1:30.1	is preceded it and the sword, which is now brought to our attention. Because when we come to the
1:38.1	sword of the spirit and to prayer, we actually leave the armor behind, and we come to the matter of our weaponry. And here we are

1:55.6	is necessary to be able to stand in the evil day, with little emphasis made on a consideration of our backs, as it
2:04.2	were. It would seem that we are standing face on to the antagonism and warfare that is ours
2:10.7	to engage in. And then, having concluded that, Paul says, and I want to identify for you your
2:16.9	weapons so that you make sure that you're
2:19.7	using the right weapons in engaging in the right warfare. And of these, he mentions two. First of all,
2:27.8	the sword of the spirit. Some of you, I know, are particularly interested in military battles
2:33.9	and skirmishes and warfare
2:36.0	from particular periods of history.
