I'm your host Paul Spore and today we've got a solo episode.

And I want to talk about a really fun topic that I've done before both in writing and

I believe pod form, at least some spin on it.

And what I'm calling it here is thrift shopping with the Bat X projections.

And basically one of these, I want to say Derrick Van Riper calls it, you know, by this

not that type of deal, you know, it's looking for cheaper iterations of more expensive

players that are reasonably the same as far as expectations go, which is what a projection

is.

And that way, if you buy that player, maybe he spikes a bigger season and you pay X number

fewer picks and you're better off for it.

The Bat X, of course, is Derrick Carty's wonderful projection system.

The Bat X is actually the revised version of the Bat that takes in even more factors to

really come up with one of the best projection systems out there, if not the very best.

I like looking at all of them, just kind of get an idea of where everybody's at.

That's why I like how we put them all on the player pages to get a snapshot.

But I do lean toward the Bat X when push comes to shove there and I really want to look

at a complete system.

So that's the one I'm using here.
