Welcome to Tenerife in the Canary Island and Mount Tidy, a great big volcano at 2,500

meters above sea level. We're about a four and a half hour flight from the UK. We're off

the coast of Western Africa. A strange place to do a cycling program. We're here because

the world's greatest road riders train here. They train here because the hills are steep, because they can lead

a monastic existence. We're going to hear from the riders, we're going to hear from the support staff,

from the coaches of Team Sky in their last camp here before they become Team Ineos. And you know what?

It's a strange place to ride your bike. If I look around me, there's cactus, there's broken rock,

there are lava fields, there's this great big volcano behind me. It feels like you're on the

surface of the moon, or if you're in the deserts of Utah. First of all, we're going to hear

from the champion himself, Chris Rume, on his comeback trail. He lost his Tour de France title last year

to his teammate, Garant Thomas. This, on top of this bleak mountain in the middle of the Atlantic, is where his comeback begins.

Here we are in Tenerife on top of Mount Tide this is one of

our pre-tour training camps just to get ourselves in shape for the Tour de France

all the training camps you do or all the training rides you do why is the stuff

here so important to your success at the tour at the Jira at the Vuelta? I think these blocks that we do up here in Teneri for just blocks where you can literally

shut the rest of the world out and focus 110% on riding your bike, recovering and doing the same

thing day in, day out out and doing exactly what you need

I guess to be to be ready for for July I mean this is a very it's very desolate up here

there's not much here it's just the just the hotel but in a way that's that's quite nice

...
