0:48.0	Back in episode 78, I told you all the fascinating story of a war that happened right at the
0:57.0	beginning of World War II.
0:59.7	This war was between the tiny country of Finland and the giant country of the Soviet Union,
1:08.3	which is now Russia.
1:12.1	That war became known as the Winter War because it happened over the winter months of 1939
1:20.2	into 1940.
1:22.3	The Soviet Union finally won that war simply because of their sheer size and manpower.
1:30.0	But Finland put up an amazing and incredibly courageous fight.
1:38.2	What made this war so interesting was the contrast in the size of the countries who were
1:44.2	fighting and the fact that it was not an easy win for the Soviets like everyone expected.
1:51.6	In that episode, I told you about how the Finns were experts at using skiing soldiers
1:59.5	to attack the entrenched Soviet troops.
2:03.7	They would swoop in on their skis seemingly out of nowhere and surprise the enemy like
2:10.2	a swarm of angry hornets.
2:13.2	All the Soviets were humiliated when these skiing soldiers destroyed two of their tank divisions.
2:23.0	Even at that point in history, this type of warfare was not new.
