As always, this is the Older Scrolls podcast,

and today we are diving into the Skarl,

the native tribe of Solstheim.

Which one of you guys would like to introduce the Frosty Boys?

These Frosty Boys and Girls, the Skarl, are basically nords, like racially speaking,

who instead of living in Skyrim and instead of following a very,

what should I, how should I say, mainstream Nordic kind of culture, they kind of have taken on their own culture, which is far more, I'd almost say indigenous in a sense, but they live, you know,

alongside nature.

They have all the kind of like kumbaya traits of like only take what you need from nature,

only kill animals if you're going to eat it and use their fur, don't waste anything.

You know, they're pacifists by nature.

They're quite welcoming to outsiders in the sense that they, you know, they'll talk to you

and be nice. They're not a hostile group of people. And they live a very traditional and religious

life in a sense too, while it may not sound as interesting as some of the other pantheons from

other cultures who've got all these different deities. The Skarl simply have the

Allmaker, who is basically the maker of all things. And the flip side of that, though, there is another

deity, if you will, called the adversary, who represents basically all challenges of life

and keeps the Skarl people strong.
